April 3rd: Language Course. Sight seeing in Herne Bay, Pub crawl with the whole group, late afternoon: cinema - “The Spiderwick Tales” spooky!!! Very British! Watch out! Culture shock!!
April 4th : “Last day at school!” Excursion Dover Castle, again very spooky!
April 5th : Excursion London: British Museum (visited Do&Co at the museum), River Bank, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, St. James’ Park, Buckingham Palace, Madame Tussaud’s.
April 6th: Returning to our beloved WI’MO, Klagenfurt via Stansted and Ljubljana (snow on the motorway to Stansted, planes could not depart from Heathrow airport that day but at Stansted everything was o.k.)
Comments:
The language course was great. The teachers were funny und nice and we played a lot of games. I liked the fashion show with the newspaper cuttings. That was great! The atmosphere was good because it was never boring. (Carina Harisch)
I think we learned a lot at school and it was also fun. The teachers were very polite. With Peter we did a lot of grammar revisions (Reported Speech etc. …)
(Andrea Poganitsch).
The teachers also told us a lot about England and especially about Kent.
(Anna Riepan)
At first I didn’t like my host mum because she told us that we should do this and that. Later on I started to like her because she turned out to be really nice and polite and she showed interest in us. She always asked us about our excursions and we talked a lot. (Sandra Jakopitsch)
At the end of the week our family cooked a real English breakfast for us with toast and baked beans, ham and eggs … that tasted lovely. (Katherin Mills)
On Friday evening our host family invited us for dinner to Nando’s in town and before dinner we went to a place called Laser Shot. The week with the family was a completely new experience for me and it was great that they were so nice to us! (Stefanie Kuß)
The best part for me was when I saw Charles Darwin at Madame Tussaud’s. He was one of the most incredible scientists and he is one of my idols. I was really surprised when I saw all the other important scientists and politicians like Isaac Newton and Mahatma Ghandi. I was not interested in the stars and other famous people, I loved to see the real important people of our world. (Rebecca Zechner)
I enjoyed this week very much. I learned many things about British culture.
(Sabine Türk)
WE WOULD LIKE TO SAY “THANK YOU” TO THE “KÄRNTNER SPARKASSE” WHICH SPONSORED THE ENTRY TO MADAME TUSSAUD’S AND TO DOVER CASTLE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
