Eternal Echoes Conference

Following two previous Erasmus meetings on Holocaust Education in Vilnius and Vienna, a group of Austrian teachers was invited to the „Eternal Echoes Conference“ in Warsaw from 24th-25th August. 150 teachers from all over Europe took part in this final ICTHE conference that introduced the recently launched „Eternal Echoes“ website. The renowned expert Christer Mattsson from Sweden gave the opening lecture on the use of Holocaust Education to counteract extremism. In our national workshop we then discussed the Austrian contribution to the website which was researched and compiled by Angelika Brechelmacher and Regina Wonisch from Alpen-Adria university Klagenfurt. The conference took place in the prized Polin museum on the history of Polish Jews. Fortunately, our group also found time for a guided tour of historic Warsaw that left us eager to return and learn more about the city and the history of its people.
